It starts with a worldview, a cast and a style. Out of those three comes a storyboard skeleton of nine shots, each one five seconds long, and that is where the product deliberately stops handing you things. The skeleton

is not the film. It is the measure the film gets set against, and the only way to set it is to go into the editor and generate the shots yourself, one at a time, then cut them into the shape you actually want.Worlds: Kasumi Shrine / White Mist Terminal / Shio's Morning City

Questions,in the margin.
Q1
Do I get a finished film?
No. You get nine shots on a timeline, an optional score, and an editor. Nothing is stitched together until you cut it — that is the whole point of the product.
Q2
How long does one shot take?
Usually 1–3 min. Each shot is 5 seconds at 720p and costs 20 credits. A full film of nine shots plus a score is 187 credits — plans are priced in credits, and the tier list above shows how many shorts each one buys.
Q3
Is export metered?
No. Export is never billed by the minute on any tier. You pay for generation, not for taking your film out.
Q4
What do I get before paying?
Every new device gets 150 free credits, no card — enough for a complete 30-second watermarked short (6 shots + a score). That is 7.5 shots of 5 seconds plus a score, sized to 30 seconds of finished film, with a little left over for one retry.
Q5
What exactly do I get?
Each generation returns one 5-second shot (20 credits). Cut nine of them together in the editor and you have the 45-second short — that is 187 credits including a music score, which is generated on demand. There is no spoken voiceover: the skeleton writes a narration line for each shot and the editor shows it as text.
Q6
Do I need prompt skills?
No. Tap a story card, upload a reference image, generate. Rewriting the story is optional.
Q7
Where does the sound come from?
The score is generated on demand (7 credits, one track for the whole cut) and mixed in at export. Nothing else is generated: each shot carries a written narration line on screen, but there is no spoken voiceover or sound effects in the file. Exporting without the score gives you a cut with no audio track at all.
Q8
Which characters can I use?
Any character you bring. We never advertise IP characters; your reference image becomes "your character".
Q9
What if I do not like the result?
Regenerate with tweaks while you have quota. Refunds follow our 14-day policy.
Q10
Is it labeled as AI?
Every FicReel film is AI-generated. Tag it when you post — the platforms ask for it, and it’s good fandom manners.
