Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and FicReel. They cover what the service is, what you may and may not do with it, who owns what you make, and how subscriptions, cancellations and refunds work. Please read them before you subscribe — by using FicReel you accept them.

1. Who you are contracting with
The service at ficreel.com (the “Service”) is operated and sold by Jingfei Guo, trading as FicReel, of No. 108, Ruyi Jiayuan, Building 1, 8F, Changxing Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong 518000, China (the “seller”, “we”, “us”).
When you use the Service, your contract is with us — not with any payment provider, and not with any supplier we use behind the scenes. We grant you the right to use the Service on the terms below, and we are the party answerable to you for it.
Payments, billing, taxes, invoices and refunds are handled by Paddle as our merchant of record. That is explained in section 5, and it means some of your rights are exercised through Paddle rather than through us.
2. Accepting these terms
By visiting the site, creating an account, or generating anything with the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or another person, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for them.
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and at least 13 years old everywhere. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3. What the service is
FicReel is an AI anime video tool. You choose a world, a character and a style, describe a story, and the Service returns a storyboard skeleton: a timeline of short shots with shot descriptions. You then generate the shots one at a time in the editor, optionally generate a music track, and export the cut.
It is deliberately not a one-click film generator. Generation happens in the editor, one shot at a time. Video and images are produced by our generation engine, which we present publicly as ficreel-1.0. We may change, add or remove engine versions, features and plans; we will not remove a plan you have paid for during the period you have paid for.
We may offer a free trial with no charge. Trial output may carry a watermark, and trial credits are granted per device and are not granted twice to the same device.
4. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for making sure the email address on the account is one you actually control — that is where we send anything important. Tell us promptly at admin@mail.ficreel.com if you believe someone else has access to your account.
5. Subscriptions and payment
Paddle is the merchant of record for every purchase. Paddle takes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, issues the invoice, manages the subscription, and processes refunds. Your card statement and your receipt will show Paddle, and Paddle is the party you contact about a billing question.
Subscription plans are billed monthly in US dollars, and one-off credit packs can be bought separately. A plan gives you a monthly credit allowance: 550 credits on the $9.90 plan, 1,170 credits on the $19.90 plan, and 2,400 credits on the $39.90 plan. One credit is worth one US cent. Credits are spent on generation — one generation returns one shot, and exporting a cut costs nothing.
The monthly allowance is a hard cap: when it runs out, generation stops and you are not charged overage. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month. If a generation fails, the credits reserved for it are returned to your balance automatically.
Subscriptions renew automatically every month until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time — cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
The clauses that govern the purchase itself — price, taxes, billing, cancellation mechanics and refunds — are set out in Paddle's buyer terms, which apply alongside these terms. See Paddle's buyer terms at paddle.com/legal/terms. Our own refund window and how to claim it are on the Refund Policy page.
6. Service level
We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free performance. The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. Generation depends on third-party infrastructure that we do not control, so shots can queue, take longer than estimated, or fail. Planned maintenance, provider outages and network problems can interrupt access.
We do not guarantee that any particular generation will succeed, or that output will meet your expectations or be fit for a particular purpose. Where a paid generation fails, the credits reserved for it are returned to your balance automatically — that is the remedy we offer for a failed run.
7. Acceptable use
You may use the Service to create anime-style video and images for personal or commercial purposes, including publishing and monetising what you make, provided you follow these terms and the law that applies to you.
You must not misuse the Service. Misuse includes, at a minimum:
- Unlawful use — using the Service for anything illegal, or to break any law or regulation that applies to you.
- Fraud and spam — fraud, deception, phishing, bulk unsolicited messaging, artificial inflation of engagement, or any attempt to obtain credits, refunds or access you are not entitled to.
- Infringing other people's rights — uploading or generating material that infringes copyright, trade marks, personality or privacy rights, including characters and artwork you have no right to use.
- Interfering with security — introducing malware, probing or scanning our systems, attempting to bypass authentication, rate limits or payment, scraping or bulk-downloading the Service, or otherwise disrupting it for anyone else.
We may investigate suspected misuse and may suspend or terminate access as described in section 13.
8. Prohibited use of the generation engine
The generation engine is a generative AI system, so there are things you must not ask it to produce. You must not use the Service to create, upload or distribute:
- Illegal content or instructions for wrongdoing — content that is itself illegal where you are, or material that instructs or facilitates a crime.
- Non-consensual sexual content — sexual or intimate imagery of any real person without their consent, including nudity, intimate imagery and deepfakes of real people, and any sexual content involving minors.
- Hate, harassment and threats — content that attacks, dehumanises, harasses or threatens people on the basis of a protected characteristic, or that incites violence.
- Malware, hacking and credential theft — code or instructions for malware, unauthorised access, credential theft, or attempts to disable or bypass safety and security controls.
- Doxxing and privacy violations — publishing someone's personal data without a lawful basis, or content used to locate or expose a person who has not consented.
- Deceptive and manipulative uses — impersonating a real person or organisation, misrepresenting the provenance of material, or presenting generated content as a real recording, statement or event in a way that could mislead.
- Evading safety controls — prompting, jailbreaking or otherwise attempting to get around the filters and safety measures we or our suppliers apply, or helping someone else to do so.
We may refuse, filter or remove anything that breaches this section, and we may suspend or terminate an account that repeatedly or seriously breaches it — see section 11 and section 13.
9. Responsibility for what you submit and what you publish
You are responsible for your own use of the Service. In particular, you are responsible for:
- The prompts and content you submit — everything you type, upload or generate, and everything you do with the account you use to do it.
- Having the rights to your inputs — for any reference image, text or other material you upload, you must own it or have permission and a lawful basis to use it, and to have it processed by us and our suppliers.
- How you use or rely on outputs — outputs are generated material, not advice, and you are the one who decides whether to use them and how.
- Checking before you act or publish — you must review output for accuracy, rights clearance and suitability before you publish it, sell it or act on it.
10. Intellectual property
This section covers both the material you bring in and the material the engine produces, so it applies whether you are using FicReel as a generation tool or as an editing tool.
We own the Service. Jingfei Guo owns and retains all rights in the Service itself: our software, our generation engine and models, our documentation, our interface, our branding, our curated asset library (worlds, characters, styles, templates), and any updates to them. Nothing in these terms transfers those rights to you. The name FicReel and our logos may not be used without our permission, except to refer factually to the Service.
You keep ownership of your own material. You keep all rights you already hold in what you upload — your reference images, your stories, your project material (your “inputs”). You grant us only the licence we need to run the Service for you: to store, process, transmit and display your inputs and outputs in order to operate, secure, support and improve the Service for you, and to comply with the law.
Ownership and licensing of outputs. As between you and us, you own the shots, images, music and exported cuts that your projects generate. We claim no ownership of your outputs. Our right to use the outputs is limited to the operational licence above — for example to render them, store them, serve them back to you, and troubleshoot them when you ask for support. Note that a generation is not always protectable by copyright, or may be protectable only in part, depending on where you are; that is a matter for your own legal advice, not a promise from us.
You must not use the Service to infringe other people's rights. That includes copyright, trade marks, design rights, personality rights and the rights of characters you do not own. You agree not to upload, generate or export material that infringes a third party's rights, and not to use the Service to impersonate a real person or brand.
Rights-holder complaints. If you believe material created or hosted through the Service infringes your rights, write to admin@mail.ficreel.com with: what the material is and where it sits (a project link or a cut URL if you have one), the right you say is infringed, a description of the work you own, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights-holder or authorised to act for them. We will review the report, remove or restrict the material where that is the right outcome, and tell the account holder what we did.
Repeat infringement. An account that repeatedly infringes third-party rights will be suspended or terminated.
11. Content moderation
We review and act on the material on the Service, and we reserve the right to:
- remove, unpublish or restrict access to content that breaches these terms;
- refuse to run a generation, or filter or decline to deliver an output, where we judge the request to be unsafe, unlawful or in breach of these terms;
- restrict a particular feature or the whole account, including limits on generation or export while we look into a report;
- suspend or terminate an account where we believe there has been a breach of these terms or where we reasonably suspect abuse, fraud or a risk to other people or to us.
This applies to both policy breaches and suspected abuse. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you what we did and why, and you can write to admin@mail.ficreel.com to ask us to review the decision. We are not obliged to host or generate anything, and removing content does not entitle you to a refund of the period you have already used.
12. Accuracy of outputs
Generative output can be inaccurate, incomplete or plainly wrong. It can look more confident than it deserves to, and it can reproduce unintended similarities to existing works. The Service gives you material to work with, not facts to act on.
Do not use the Service to produce legal, medical, financial, tax, immigration or other regulated professional advice, and do not present output as such advice. If you use output in a professional context, you must have a qualified person review it first. You must review output yourself before you publish it, submit it to a client or rely on it.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may cancel your subscription at any time as described in section 5. We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, if:
- You materially breach these terms — including any breach of section 7, section 8, or the intellectual property rules in section 10.
- You do not pay — a subscription payment fails or a payment is reversed or disputed without a valid reason.
- There is a security or fraud risk — we detect compromised credentials, fraudulent payment, coordinated abuse, attacks on our systems, or activity that puts other users at risk.
- You repeatedly or seriously violate our policies — including repeated content-policy breaches or repeated infringement of third-party rights.
Where the problem is fixable, we will normally warn you first and give you a reasonable chance to fix it. Where the risk is serious — or the law or a payment provider requires it — we may act immediately. If we terminate for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of the period you have paid for; the Refund Policy sets out how that works. On termination, your licence to use the Service ends, and sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, governing law) continue to apply.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes or the law changes. When we do, we publish the new version here and update the effective date at the top of the page. If the change is material, we will tell you through the Service or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, you may cancel.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the People's Republic of China, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without affecting any right you have under mandatory consumer law where you live.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot lawfully give up, including your statutory consumer rights, and nothing here excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
